I apologize for the long, long break between posts here. I was in the process of packing and moving. It took a long time because I wasn't only moving myself. I was moving my family as well. My elderly mom doesn't travel well and moving was even more stressful on her. The pets, two of which were adopted after their family had to move and give them up, were very stressed and needy. The planning and coordination of the packing, moving and storage, not to mention the logistics of the physical move of over 100 miles away from where we lived was overwhelming and I'm sure we're all candidates for post traumatic moving stress syndrome.
And, I'm not being facetious! Undergoing that big a change in your life on top of the emotional aspect of having to go through all your belongings to give away or throw away parts of your life because you have no more room to take them is very upsetting. To punctuate how difficult a move it was, it took us an entire week of every day moving the contents of the yard and garden, plants that we couldn't bear to lose, like the self-watering container plants (see previous posts) and the container fruit trees, etc., boxes, furniture and other belonging to storage or to the new house or too the Good Will donation center. Every day! That's seven days of hard, physical labor which included waking up before sunrise working all day and then going to sleep well after 2 am only to start the same routine again. And in the middle of it all, we had to clean the house because moving is a messy process. But, that's what happens when you live in a house and have to move all of its contents to another house and you can't afford movers. I won't ramble on in this post (any more than I already have). I'll just say that I'll be back more actively once the last box/bin is unpacked. And, sadly, that might take a few more days. Thank you again for your patience.
